This an installation that animates drawings. The installation uses the “Animated Drawings” repo by Meta.

Doodly do harnesses object detection models, pose estimation models and image processing-based segmentation methods to capture a digital version of a drawing.

Technical Write up

The installation uses the “Animated Drawings” repo by Meta. I deployed the model locally on a Mac M1. The time from sending the drawing to being shown on screen was about 8-10 seconds. The drawings were shown first in and out. The visuals were made in Touchdesigner.

Further Development

I would like to deploy the model on an AWS server to reduce the time for animation and inicrese the number of different movements. Currently it is restricted to 4-5 movements. I would laos like to set up a system where peeople can create the movement also
